I got a 97 gmc sierra. its only got 33's but i drive a lot on the highway, and the power in overdrive sucks. I'm just wondering what the best ring and pinion gears would be to put in it. I was thinking 4.11's. Any suggestions?

to find what % you are off from stock tire size, then pick thegear that is that % steeper, or a little more.
Drive in 3rd at high speed to determine the criuse speed where cabin noise becomes unacceptable, and set od RPM lower than that at your realistic criusing speed.
I sure wish one of my trucks had overdrive to be gutless in.

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 10:27 PMWhat gears do you have currently? I am guessing the 3.23"s if your griping about overdrive with only 33's. With the current gas prices, I would recommend 3.73's, especially if this is your daily driver. Remember, higher rpm's equals lower mpg.
